A distinguished specialist in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and Percutaneous Valve Interventions (PVI), Dr. John Jose is widely regarded as one of India’s most accomplished interventional and structural heart specialists. Over his career, he has performed more than 1,000 Transcatheter Valve Implantations, over 850 TAVI procedures, completed over 20,000 Interventional Cardiac procedures, and has provided compassionate care to over 100,000 patients.

Born and raised in Ernakulam, Kerala, Dr. John completed his schooling at Rajagiri Public School, Kalamassery. He is an alumnus of Christian Medical College, Vellore, where he completed his MBBS, MD in Medicine, and DM in Cardiology. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in interventional cardiology at Segeberger Kliniken GmbH, Germany, an academic teaching hospital of the Universities of Kiel, Luebeck, and Hamburg. He later received advanced training in Structural Heart Interventions at the Leipzig Heart Center, Germany, along with extensive practical training at leading European cardiac centers. Through this journey, he has helped bring world class, minimally invasive valve and structural heart therapies within reach for patients in India and abroad.

Today, Dr. John serves as Professor & Head Of Unit – 2, Department of Cardiology at his alma mater, carrying forward CMC Vellore’s legacy of excellence, integrity, and compassionate healing.

With significant international experience, including performing and mentoring TAVI procedures in India, Germany, Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and several other centers, Dr. John is trusted globally for managing complex structural heart diseases. He has authored more than 50 peer reviewed publications in leading cardiology journals and has presented over 100 clinical cases at major national and international conferences. He also served as a faculty member and Co–Course Director at the Indian Structural Heart Congress, Kochi, India, held in 2024 and 2025.
